"Move Out of the Darkness into the Light"

The Joseph and Terrence Tusan Foundation is astutely aware of this problem that has prevailed for years and sometimes generations among these residents. On March 6, 2024, the foundation partnered with Ferrell Fellows of the Kingdom Legacy Co., as well as and All Source Construction and other community members joined forces to share God’s promise of hope and caring about the forgotten in not so sunny South Dallas. All Source Construction provided pizza from their food truck and The Joseph and Terrence Foundation provided 100 lunches.  Many people expressed their appreciation and said it made them feel like they were family.

"BACK PACKS FOR STUDENTS"

The Foundation had the opportunity to work with Vance Hanani Owekha, musician, teacher and friend of Terrence Tusan, Coach Williams, Sam Houston High School basketball coach and other organizations to provide free backpacks with school supplies to ~ 200 students.

The backpacks were for elementary to high school students. The event also included free haircuts, flavored ice cups and popcorn.

The students and parents were very appreciative of all supplies and gifts given!

The Foundation also provided some excellent tools by Pastor Richard and Crystalbelle Ferim from the Metropolitan Christian Center that are beneficial for all students to have a successful and productive year!

The event took place at Sam Houston High School Auditorium, Arlington, TX and the Joseph and Terrence Tusan Foundation looks forward to supporting this event next school year.

"A NEED - A SEED - THE WORK - A BLESSING"

Early 2020 the news was inundated with coverage of food deprivation and visions of never-ending cars at food drives. Not being able to feed your family is an experience that no one should have to endure.

During our monthly meetings, we discussed the state of the nation and the immediate needs in our communities because of the Covid pandemic.

Many times, Kevin Tusan said he wanted to help a family affected by Covid and a seed was planted!

The foundation's core mission is to award scholarships, but because of the dire need for food we forged outside the box and purchased enough food to feed 250 families and held a food drive.

The foundation partnered with New Life Fellowship Church, Pastor Maurice Pugh, to host the food drive. We were in the middle of the pandemic, but on the day of the food drive it was hope, love and joy abound.

We thank our volunteers and donors for making a dream of helping 250 families!

Opportunities to partner and collaborate with community organizations in high need areas to provide access to fresh, perishable, and other grocery products where there is otherwise limited capacity is a tremendous service to the community.

The foundation donated funds and several local individuals from our Team volunteered to lend a helping hand with food prep and distribution to give back to the Arlington community.
